The Refresh line: what it is & how to use it

Last reviewed July 1, 2026

What the Refresh line is

Refresh is OrganiLock's family of consumer-friendly granular soil conditioners - an easy way to give the soil you already have a biological and structural upgrade. All four are built on the same platform: a fine-ground Soil Food concentrate blended with pine bark and biochar, plus a multi-species package of both endo- and ecto-mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial Bacillus bacteria. Each one is sized and tuned for a specific everyday job.

The four products

  • Flower Pot Refresh - containers and planters.
  • House Plant Refresh - indoor houseplants.
  • Raised Bed Refresh - outdoor food and ornamental raised beds.
  • Landscape Refresh - trees, shrubs, perennials, and groundcovers.

Important: how to think about Refresh

Refresh is a soil conditioner, not a fertilizer and not a stand-alone growing medium. Do not plant directly into Refresh - work it into your existing soil. Because it is a conditioner, Refresh does not carry an NPK rating.

On certification: Refresh is built on an OMRI-Listed Soil Food base, but the finished Refresh products are not yet OMRI Listed - certification is in progress. For an organic-certified input today, use Soil Food.

How to use each one

  • Raised Bed Refresh: at the start of the season, work 1/2 to 3/4 inch into the top 4 to 6 inches of the bed; mid-season, top-dress about 1/4 inch. A 2 cu ft bag covers about 48 sq ft; a 12 qt bag covers about 10 sq ft.
  • Landscape Refresh: apply 1/2 to 3/4 inch over mulched beds and water it through. A 2 cu ft bag covers about 48 sq ft.
  • Flower Pot Refresh: before planting, mix 1/2 to 3/4 inch into the top 4 to 6 inches; or use as a 1/2 to 3/4 inch top-dress. A 6 qt bag refreshes about six 12-inch pots.
  • House Plant Refresh: when repotting, blend 1 part Refresh to 3 parts soil; or top-dress about 1/4 inch. A 12 qt bag covers about two dozen 12-inch pots.

When to reach for Refresh

Use Refresh when you want to revive tired container mix, bring a raised bed back to life between seasons, or give landscape plantings a boost - without tearing everything out and starting over.

The product calculator will size the right bag for your pots or beds.
